The Ukrainian president, Volodyymyr Zenskyy, agreed on Sunday to meet face to face with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Türkiye.
Putin initially proposed Thursday’s meeting this weekend, and President Donald Trump led Zenskyy to accept the sacrifice. Putin said that conversations in Istanbul must be heroes without previous conditions and with the objective of lasting peace.
“We expect a complete and durable fire, starting tomorrow, to provide the basics necessary for diplomacy. It makes no sense to prolong the murders. And I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on this day. Zenskyy wrote.
Trump encouraged Zenskyy to accept Putin’s meeting on Sunday earlier. Ukraine and Russia are currently under a high fire that marks the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.

“President Putin de Russia does not want to have a high fire farce with Ukraine, but wants to meet on Thursday, in Turkey, to negotiate a possible end of the blood bath,” Trump wrote on social networks. “Ukraine should agree with this, immediately. At least they can determine whether or not an agreement is possible, and if not, European leaders and the United States will know where everything is located, and can proceed accordingly!”
“I am starting to doubt that Ukraine reaches an agreement with Putin, which is too busy celebrating the victory of the World War, which could not have been won (not even close!) Without the United States of America. Have the meeting, now!” Hey added.
Until now, Putin has offered few concessions, if any, but now he says that conversations should address the fundamental causes of war. He said he would talk to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan later on Sunday about facilitating negotiations, which said he could result in a fire.

“Our proposal, as they say, is on the table,” Putin said. “The decision now depends on the Ukrainian authorities and their curators, who are guided, seems, for their personal political ambitions, and not for the interests of their peoples.”
Putin’s proposal for direct conversations occurred hours after European leaders demanded on Saturday in kyiv that the Russian president agrees a high unconditional fire of 30 days or faces new sanctions. But Putin dismissed the attempts of some European powers to issue what he described as “ultimatums.”
The Russian leader said he does not rule out that Moscow and kyiv will agree on “some new bruises, a new fire” negotiations in Turkey, saying that conversations would be the first step towards a “sustainable” peace.
