An emergency response is being made after the Brooklyn bridge was beaten by a Mexican Navy ship on Saturday in New York City.
FDNY confirmed that there were injuries, but had no details about how many people could have hit the accident or whites that were on the boat or on the bridge.
NYPD urged people to avoid the area around the Brooklyn bridge, including the South Street sea port in Manhattan and Dumbo in Brooklyn due to the collision. The bridge closed to traffic, but since then it has reopened.
Mayor Eric Adams has been informed about the situation and is on the scene, said his office.

The video of the collision that was published online showed the mast of the ship, which was flying a green, white and red giant Mexican flag, scraping the lower part of the bridge. The ship then headed towards the edge of the river when the spectators moved away from the shore.
The Mexican Navy said in an X publication that Cuauhtemoc, an academy training ship, suffered damage to an accident with the Brooklyn bridge that prevents its trip from continuing.
He added that the status of the staff and the material was under review by the naval and local authorities, which were providing assistance.
“The Secretary of the Navy renews his commitment to the security of the personnel, the transparency in his operations and an excellent training for future officers of the Mexican Navy,” he said in Spanish.
