Cohere Health, a clinical intelligence company, launched a new solution called Review Assist, which accelerates medical need for health plans, the company announced on Monday.
Cohere Health, based in Boston, provides prior authorization solutions with AI to help improve the relationship between payers and suppliers. The new tool is a jersey to help the clinical staff of health plans with previous authorization reviews, which are often extremely heavy, according to the company. The typical process requires that reviewers analyze hundreds of clinical record pages to determine if a patient procedure is necessary.
Review Assist operates within existing use management flows. Use the COHERE AI and Large Language Models to analyze unstructured and structured clinical data and provide processable information for reviewers, as well as links to their source for this information. In addition, it has a chatbot of AI that can answer questions for the reviewer and find additional ideas.
Together with prior authorization requests, the product can also be used for appeals, Hedis measures and other use cases.
“What we have built is essentially a co-pilot … It is installed on its existing applications and really works to focus and support users of those applications, which are really clinical-Nurses-MDS users, who said Parker, director of products of Cohere Health, duration of a recent interview at the Ahip 2025 conference in Las Vegas.
He added that review assistance can help payers to ensure that patients receive adequate care at the right time.
“You don’t want to delay attention,” Parker said. “You want to make sure the attention is done properly [and that] It is done on time and is done correctly. And so, providing opportunities to improve the speed and precision of this information, we believe it is really important. ”
The review assistance has already shown some positive results. According to Cohere Health data, you can improve the efficiency of the review of medical need by up to 50% with approximately 99% precision. To measure the effectiveness of the product even more, Cohere Health will track precision, efficiency and compliance, said Parker.
The launch of the review assistance occurs shortly after Cohere Health announced that he raised $ 90 million in Funds of the C series in May. The financing was directed by TeMek and included the participation of Flare Capital Partners, Deerfield Management, defining ventures, capital length and polaris partners. This round brought its total financing to date to $ 200 million.
