The Los Angeles Fire Department hastened Wilmington after a tunnel collapsed and caught 31 people inside.
Construction workers within the underground tunnel were rescued approximately one hour after collapse, according to the Los Angeles County Supervisor, Janice Hahn, who repeats the area.
None of the 31 construction workers trapped in the tunnel suffered visible injuries, according to LaFD. Firefighters said construction workers rose to a land stack of approximately 12 to 15 feet to escape.

Flatiron Dragados, the main construction contractor, wrote on its website that the tunnel is 7 miles long, approximately 18 feet wide and 450 feet under the ground level. The company wrote that the new project will allow the equipment to repair aged wastewater management tunnels built in 1937 and 1958.
