The United Nations: The Trump administration announced on Wednesday that it is broadcasting sanctions against an independent investigator in charge of investigating human rights abuses in the Palestinian territories, the last effort of the United States to punish Israel’s critics.

The decision of the State Department to impose sanctions on Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur for Bank and Gaza, follows an unsuccessful US pressure campaign to force the international body to take it out of their position. It also occurs when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits Washington this week to meet with President Donald Trump and other officials about the war in Gaza and more.
It is not clear what practical impact the sanctions will have and if the independent researcher can travel to the United States with diplomatic paperwork.
Albanese, an Italian human rights lawyer, has expressed what has described as Israel’s “genocide” against the Palestinians in Gaza. Both Israel and the United States, who provide military support to their near allied, have strongly denied that accusation.
The United States had not previously addressed concerns with Albanese in front because it has not participated in any of the two sessions of the Human Rights Council this year, including the summer session that ended on Tuesday. This is because the Trump administration withdraw the United States earlier this year.
Albanian has urged countries to press Israel
In recent weeks, Albanian has issued a series of letters that urge other countries to press Israel, even through sanctions, to end its deadly bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
It also has a great defender of international criminal courts against Israeli officials, including Netanyahu, for accusations of war crimes. Recently he issued a report that appointed several major US companies such as between those who help what he described as the occupation of Israel and the war against Gaza.

“The Albanese campaign of political and economic war against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated,” published Secretary of State Marco Rubio on social networks. “We will always support our partners in their right to self -defense.”
Liz Evenson, International Justice Director at Human Rights Watch, Said The Us Government’s Decision to Sanction Albanese For Seeking Justice Through the ICC “Is Actually All About Silence for an Expert For Doing Her Job – Speaking Truth and Corpations and Corpations and Corpals’s and Corpp Corpsss and corpals’s and corpings and corpals’s and corpals’s and corpalss and corperess and corperess and corpals’s and corpings and corpallions and corpallions and corpallions and corploles and corploles and corpallions and corploles and corploles and corploles and corploles and corpallions and corpals and corpals and corpals and corpal. CORPALLES AND CORPALLING’S AGAINS.
“The United States is working to dismantle the norms and institutions on which the survivors of serious abuses depend,” Evenson said in a statement. “UN and ICC member countries should strongly resist the shameless efforts of the United States government to block justice for the worst crimes of the world and condemn the scandalous sanctions to Albanese.”
The July 1 Report of Albanese focuses on Western Defense Companies that have tested the weapons used by the Israel Army, as well as the manufacturers of Earth’s movement teams that swept the houses and the Palestinian property.
He quotes business activities in the shipping, real estate, technology, banking and finance and online industries, as well as academy.
“While life in Gaza is being erased and the West Bank is under increasing assault, this report shows why Israel’s genocide continues: because it is lucrative for many,” said his report.
A request for comments from the best UN Human Rights Agency was not immediately returned.
Israel strongly refutes Albanese’s accusations
Israel’s diplomatic mission in Geneva, where the Human Rights Council of 47 members is located, qualifies the Albanese report “legally unfounded, defamatory and a flagrant abuse of its office” and with “atrocities of Encaladas Hamas”.
External experts, such as Albanese, do not represent the United Nations and have no formal authority. However, they inform the Council as a means to monitor the human rights records of the countries.

Albanian has faced criticism from officials and pro-Israel groups in the United States and in the Middle East. The UN Mission to the UN issued a scathing statement last week, asking for the extraction of “an anti-Semitism of years or virulent and an implacable anti-Israel bias.”
The statement said that Albanese’s accusations of Israel who commit genocide or apartheid are “false and offensive.”
Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, celebrated the American action, saying in a statement on Wednesday that the “relentless and biased campaign of Albanese against Israel and the United States has crossed the line for a long time.”
The Trump administration campaign to calm the criticism or Israel
It is a culmination of a campaign of almost six men by the Trump administration to suffocate criticism or the management of the Israel War in Gaza. Earlier this year, the Administration assigned arresting and trying to deport professors and students from American universities who participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations and other political activities.
The war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023, when the militants led by Hamas broke into Israel and killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and a touch of 251 captive people. The Israel retaliation campaign has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, which says that women and children constitute most of the dead, but not specific to many were combatants or civilians.
Almost 21 months after the conflict that displaced the rapid majority of the 2.3 million people in Gaza, it is almost impossible for critical injured to obtain the attention they need, doctors and humanitarian workers say.
“We must stop this genocide, whose short -term objective is to complete the ethnic cleaning of Palestine, while benefiting us from the killing machine designed to performance,” Albanian said in a publication recently in X. “No one is safe until everyone is safe.”
