Police in Atlanta says that the gunman is dead after an active shooting situation on Friday near the University of Emory, outside the headquarters of the US disease control and prevention centers.
A Dekalb County Police officer who was shot dead from his wounds, authorities said. The mayor said they were not fired to civilians.
Around 5 in the afternoon, the University of Emory published an emergency alert message that said: “Active shooter on the Emory Atlanta campus in Emory Point CVS. Run, hide, fight. Avoid the area.”
For more than an hour, people were told in the Emory Campus area that will take refuge instead, but that warning has now risen.
