Josh Kerr says he is planning “very special” Commonwealth games after confirming that he intends to compete in Glasgow next summer.
The Olympic silver medista and the current World Edinburgh champion revealed that he goes to the local event at the bottom of the coast to victory in the 5000m in the United Kingdom athletics championship.
Last week he scored the year to go to Mark for the games to return to Scotland, 11 years after the city was the last time he organized the event.
“Or, of course, the Commonwealth is in my plans and in my mind for next year,” Kerr said.
“Running for the Scotland team would be a big problem for me and I feel very fortunate to have the Commonwealth games again to the United Kingdom. It will be in Glasgow and that can be very special.
“It is a large part of my calendar by 2026 and I will wait for it. The Europeans are in Birmingham a pair or week later.”
The 28 -year -old is currently preparing for his defense for the 1500m title in the World Championship in September.
And Kerr, who relieves victory during the weekend, says he is anxious to give a better account of himself in next year’s games compared to Birmingham three years ago.
The Scots ended 12 in the 1500m and said: “The last time, here in Birmingham, it was not a fantastic experience or effort on me, there were many reasons for that in the summer of 2022.
“But my work is to perform consistently, and do that for all who look and for myself.”
