Danielle Fishel talked about why he is fighting with her dancing with the stars performance for the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.
“We’re doing ‘Dream On’ by Aerosmith,” Fishel, 44, said during the Monday, Nov. 3, episode of her podcast “Danielle With the Stars.” “We’re telling the story of how difficult it can be to be a woman in a society where, somehow, we’re always too much and never enough. It doesn’t matter what choice you make, whether you work inside the home or outside the home. If you choose to work outside the home, then you’re selfish and your kids need you and where their mother is, and if you work inside the home, then you’re boring and you have no interests.”
He continued: “And if you get botox and fillers then you don’t age gracefully, and if you age gracefully then you look old and ugly. And if you’re too thin, they tell you to eat a hamburger and if you gain weight they tell you to get off the couch. You can’t win, and having been in the public eye and on television since I was 10, I’ve been under a microscope and my decisions have been scrutinized. I’ve made terrible mistakes… And I resist it. because it is triggering many things in me.”
While talking to her guest, the former DWTSpr Luis van AmstelFishel explained that preparing for the performance has led to “a lot of negative self-talk,” “eating disorders,” and “all these things that are so personal.” He added that instead of “leaning into” the dance, it will be a contemporary routine with a partner Pasha Pashkov – has discovered that unexpected reactions “make me not want to do it.”
“So it’s been a tough week,” he continued. “But I think the fact that I realized it made me wake up and think, so happy that I was talking to you and that you gave me the advice that you gave me because it really lands and resonates, but also, it’s very clear that this is striking an emotional chord for me and there’s a reason for that and this dance really means something.”
Van Amstel, who was an on-again, off-again pro for 11 seasons of the ABC series, thanked Fishel for being so candid and called it a “beautiful, heartfelt moment” for her. “Just having this conversation, that’s why I love or loved doing dancing with the stars” he said, telling him he has “nothing to lose” in Week 8.
“You’ve come this far,” van Amstel explained. “You can take your nerves and give up, or you can take your nerves and turn them on, use the adrenaline and say, ‘People at home, look at this.’”
Pashkov, meanwhile, showed his support for his partner in the Instagram clip from the “Pod Meets World” episode, first leaving a handful of applause emojis before writing, “That’s why this show is so transformative. It’s not easy, but when we get over the hump, life changes!”
Fishel’s husband. Jenson Karp, He also sent his praise. “I love you and I am absolutely impressed by your courage,” he wrote. “Leave it all on that floor.”
During the podcast, van Amstel explained to Fishel that he’s already “come this far,” so he can either take his “nerves and give up, or take his nerves and turn it on, use the adrenaline and say, ‘People at home, watch this.'”
Fishel expressed his appreciation for van Amstel’s words and noted that while he has been “struggling” this week, there have also been some highlights. She is one of the two captains of the season 34 first team dance competition, an experience she says has been “amazing.”

“If I do say so myself, I picked an all-star team and it didn’t come about randomly. I had a complete strategy and my strategy paid off,” Fishel said of his group, which is called “Team Chicago” and includes Whitney Leavitt, Jordanian chillies, Dylan Efronyour professional partners and co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. (“Team Chicago” will dance to Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4,” while the opposing “Team Kool,” led by Andy Richter will perform with “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang.)
“I was thrilled with my choices, but my choices were that I am by far the weakest link, at least female, on the team, which is never fun,” Fishel confessed. “Feeling like, ‘Okay, everyone is learning this so fast and I really need this to slow down.'”
Van Amstel told The boy knows the world student to “let it go,” saying that she is not the “weakest link” but rather the person who “came in with the least experience.”
“The pressure is on them, not you,” he continued. “Everyone knows you’ve grown from week 1 to now, leaps and bounds, and you’ve got the likability factor. And you have no problem with the character of the dance. Regardless of who’s on your team… the only thing you can control is your moves, participating in the moves, listening to the music, and doing your part.”
He also advised Fishel to stay away from social media, saying that putting too much emphasis on what people think will make anyone “go psychopath.”
When Fishel asked him to give her “some” advice after watching her dance, van Amstel suggested she “peel back all the remaining layers” of herself and show the “emotional self” that he feels has been repressed all season.
“We don’t know each other, but you are a kind person. This resonates, it shows through the screen. You are a kind person, the relationship you have with Pasha,” he said. “But I would say, ‘My son’. Let’s go for it.”
Fishel and Pashkov received all 8s for their Halloween jazz routine during the October 28 episode, moving on to week 8 afterward. The secret lives of Mormon wives Jen Affleck and partner Jan Ravinik They were sent home. She remains in the competition alongside Richter, Leavitt, Efron, Chiles, Robert Irwin, Elaine Hendrix and Alix Earle.
