Update: There are eight teams left standing in the 2026 Atlantic-10 men’s tournament. No. 13 seed St. Bonaventure is on a Cinderella streak right now, winning games on consecutive days, including an upset of No. 5 seed George Mason on Friday. The Bonnies will be joined by No. 9 George Washington, No. 7 Duquesne and No. 6 Davidson in the quarterfinals, along with the top four seeds that have earned a bye to this point.
The Atlantic-10 is historically a multi-bid league, but last year only conference tournament champion VCU made the NCAA tournament. This year’s league has a clear powerhouse in Saint Louis that will receive an at-large bid even if it doesn’t win the automatic bid. Can someone bug the Billikens to get multiple A-10 teams back into the big dance?
Saint Louis went 15-3 in the league this year with an explosive five-out offense that shoots 41 percent from three as a team (No. 2 in DI). Senior center Robbie Avila has all the makings of a March Madness hero, but there will be plenty of teams looking to ruin the Billikens’ momentum in the conference tournament. VCU is once again very good under first-year head coach Phil Martelli Jr., who has thrived after replacing Bryant. Martelli’s father was a legendary coach at St. Joe’s, and now the Hawks are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the country entering the conference tournament on a six-game winning streak. Dayton, George Mason and Davidson can also dream of a Cinderella run.
