Off campus It ended its first season with a serious twist, and now the actor involved is breaking his silence about the major book change.
During season 1, which premiered in May, Allie (Mika Abdalla) formed a connection with a mystery man who she later hooked up with in the midst of a casual relationship with Dean (Esteban Kalyn).
The final scene of the season showed Dean arguing with the guy, formerly known as Carter, who turned out to be Hunter Davenport (charlie evans) but no further details were revealed. There seemed to be a hint that Dean’s problems were related to his sister, Summer, who dated Hunter in the past.
“I went for Carter St. James V and I knew he was rich,” Evans said. Fainting about how much he knew about the role before booking it. “I knew a little [that] He played on a rival team, stuff like that, just vague details. But no, it was only after I got the job that I discovered who he really was.
Fans of Elle KennedyThe book series is familiar with the character, who was Dean’s teammate in The score and they were on good terms. Hunter then became the focus of his own book: The work – while Summer appeared prominently in The chase.
“What I know is that Yana Grebenyuk Luisa [Levy] “He’s got a pretty stellar design for Season 2 that’s ready to film, and it’s all about Dean,” Evans teased. “It’s about Dean’s world and Dean’s story, and everyone who is close to him, and not so close to him, and I’m so excited for people to see that story.”

Evans didn’t rule out meeting Summer and exploring her past with Hunter.
“I think anything is possible. I think the way we’re doing this show, Louisa has very cleverly set up these characters to be malleable and react to their environments,” he added. “There are a lot of topical and beautiful changes to the story that she has made that translate incredibly well to the screen, and that she will continue to do.”
He continued, “I mean, she really knows everything about the future of this story and how she wants it to be told, and I’m so grateful to be a part of that because she’s integral. I’ve been in those rooms and I’ve seen the boards, and they have the books out, and they’re taking out pages, and it’s really impressive.”
According to Evans, it was always the plan to turn things around with Hunter.
“This was always the setup for Season 2. We knew the plan when we started, and that’s where we went,” he shared. “I think we were pretty clear about it from the beginning. We wanted a big climactic ending. We wanted everyone to be in the same place. I mean, Louisa plans this way in advance. She has the next five books written, ready to go.”
Evans expressed excitement about where the show is going from here, saying, “All that stuff with Allie, that vulnerability and that trauma, honestly, because he has a little bit of a sad history and he let those walls come down a little bit.”
He concluded: “Seeing him just let go of the nonsense and get into a place of reality, just stripping away all these structural walls that he’s built up because of his family and what’s expected of him, and all that stuff, and just figuring out who he is.”
Off campus It is currently streaming on Prime Video.
