Two-time 200m world champion Shericka Jackson put on a dominant display to win the 200m Diamond League event in Xiamen.
Jackson broke the meet record and narrowly missed the world lead by 0.01 seconds, finishing with a time of 21.87 seconds to claim the victory.
The Jamaican led from the beginning and showed her strength in the turn to pull away.
Shaunae Miller-Uibo (22.04) and Anavia Battle (22.29) produced season-best results to place second and third respectively, but neither seemed to worry Jackson.
2023 100m world champion Sha’Carri Richardson also achieved a season’s best, crossing the finish line in fourth place with a time of 22.38 seconds.
Amy Hunt, Great Britain’s world 200m silver medalist, finished seventh out of nine entrants.
Elsewhere on Saturday in Xiamen, 18-year-old Chinese athlete Yan Ziyi rose to second place in the women’s javelin record book with an impressive effort of 71.74m.
At the age of 17, Yan achieved the junior world record. A day after turning 18, his pitch on Saturday broke the Diamond League record, the Asian record and the under-20 world record.
The men’s 400m hurdles were also exciting as Brazil’s Alison dos Santos took on world record holder Karsten Warholm.
The pair, who won bronze and silver in the 2024 Olympic final, separated themselves from the rest of the field as they dueled for the front, but it was Dos Santos who took victory in 46.72 seconds, 0.10 seconds ahead of the Norwegian.
