kim kardashian is clearing up confusion surrounding her latest holiday post on social media after some fans questioned the timing.
The Skims founder, 45, posted a carousel of happy family snaps via her Instagram on Thursday, July 16, showing her and her loved ones enjoying a fun getaway. “Lake life,” he captioned the image.
The post was published around the same time as Kris Jenner announced the death of his mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannonin 91.
The moment left fans scratching their heads, with some accusing Kardashian of being insensitive.
“Didn’t your grandma just pass away? This couldn’t wait until the weekend 😕,” one follower wrote, while another chimed in to add, “I’m so confused.”
However, others supported Kardashian, with one person commenting: “Do you really think she would intentionally post this at the same time as the news of her grandmother’s passing? It’s clearly a scheduled post. Keep an eye on it.”
In response to the confusion, Kardashian took to the comments section to clarify what had happened, confirming that it was indeed a scheduled post.
“This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so the timing coincided with his passing,” he explained. “I’ve been by my mom and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart goes out completely to my family right now. We love and miss her deeply, and in the coming days, we’ll focus on celebrating her beautiful life 🕊️🤍.”
An hour after she posted her scheduled vacation post, Kardashian shared a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother.
“My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip partner, my forever twin… You taught us all the importance of family, and those values are something we will carry with us forever!!!!! You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hard-working businesswoman. You gave me my first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength and confidence that I have carried with me ever since,” Kardashian wrote.
The caption continued: “You always believed in me, stood up for me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family and your love is woven into all of us. I know you are at peace now. Give a hug to daddy Harry, my aunt Karen, and my dad. You will always be a part of me, I love you so much and will miss you forever and ever. 🤍 YOU ARE THE BEST ONE OF US!!!”
