President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said his high -risk conversations with Vladimir Putin were “convincing” and insisted that the Russian leader was open to a “permanent peace” agreement with Ukraine.
Witkoff sat with Putin in St. Petersburg last Friday in the middle of the efforts of the Trump administration to lead an agreement to finish the three -year war.
“I think we could be in the hive of something that would be very, very important for the world in general,” Witkoff told Fox News “Sean Hannity on Monday, adding” Tok a time for us to get to this place. “
Witkoff said after five hours of conversations, he saw an “emerging” treatment.
He also added that he saw “a possibility of remodeling the relationship of Russian and Russian states through some very convincing commercial opportunities that I think also give real stability to the region.”
It occurs after Trump described on Monday the assault from Russia to Ukraine as “Biden War”, before suggesting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky played a hand to begin the conflict.
“The war between Russia and Ukraine is Biden’s war, not mine.
“President Putin, and everyone else, respected their president! I had nothing to do with this war, but I am working diligently so that death and destruction stop.”
