After four seasons and six years, Fair precious stones He is coming to an end, and no one is more distressed about it than Kelvin and Keefe, or rather, the actors who give life to the promised characters.
Sitting with Decider to talk about the fourth and last season of the comedy of Danny McBride HBO, Adam Devine and Tony Cavalero opened the final “bittersweet” for their program on a southern televangelist family that comedy.
“It was difficult, surely Bitterweet. Because this has been our life for four seasons, but for six years,” Devine said. “This is our family. So it was difficult, but I think we had the landing. This season, the fourth season, is the best so far.”
And the Pitch perfect The actor is not joking. This season has received excellent reviews and had some of his best episodes throughout the race, including episode 4, “Go to you in Galilee”, which sees gemstones visiting their Lakehouse. In that episode, the character of Cavalero dresses with clothes that belongs to the matriarch of the Gemes, Aimee-Leigh (Jennifer Nettles), in an attempt to scare Eli (John Goodman) of his new relationship with Lori Milsap (Megan Mullall). Things do not go to plan, think, as Baby Billy’s babysitter (Walton Goggins) intervenes and emits a beating like no other.
“Oh, man. That was crazy. I thought, ‘oh, do the trick, we will simply go to half [the stairs]Excellent. And the first shot, Boom, landed right in my head, seeing stars, “said the actor.” And I went to the stairs and caught Myelf on the three staircase and everyone said: “That was not Tony, right?” I was watching stars for 45 minutes. “

It is a lung trip (and surprisingly brutal) for the couple, one that will soon end when episode 9, the final of the series, is transmitted on May 4. But the final cannot be done no. The actors say they would be more than willing to repeat their roles, but perhaps not in the way fans would think. Check out our full interview with Cavaelro and devine below.
Decish: What was your reaction when discovering what would be the Swan song of the Gemes stones?
Tony Cavalero: I’m great. I made it very well.
Adam Devine: You cried …
Cavalero: I cried a lot, yes, I cried a lot.
Devine: Tony cried for the last two and a half months of shooting. It was strange because Danny, I think, because telling people who was the last season because he didn’t want to cry, but he said: “I am thinking that it could be the last one”, as in private. And then it was not the last months that, because there for half a year, so it was in the last two months that he said: “It will actually be the last.” And it was difficult, bittersweet. Because this has been our life, four seasons, but more than six years. And takes us through some difficult times. Pandemia, strike …
And you welcomed a child [with wife Chloe Bridges] At that time too.
Devine: Yes, my son was there, living in Charleston, which was a trip. But yes, this is our family, so it was difficult, but I think we caught the landing. This season, the fourth season, is the best until now.
And has given us some incredible scenes and episodes. Is there a moment or an episode that you are most excited that fans see it?
Devine: I think for me, it is his turn as Aimee-Leight. That was a wild scene.
Cavalero: Oh, man. That was crazy. I thought: “Oh, do the trick, we will simply go halfway [the stairs]Excellent. “And the first shot, landed in my head, seeing to dodge two blows. Everyone said:” That was not Tony, right? “I was seeing stars for 45 minutes.
Devine: I like how he was sitting on video Village when all that was happening and Danny was like “friend, we told him that the type of acrobatics can do all this. As I don’t know why this is doing this Dois. “

Yes, it is one for which fans are going to be crazy. I have to assume that after four seasons and six years, you have had some memorable interactions with fans or enemies. Is there anyone who stands out?
Devine: Cot I meet many enemies of the show, mostly they are very silent tons of how: “I cannot believe that we like this mischievous show, as if we are a religious family.” And I say: “I can’t hear you, you’re whispering, we are in an airport.” I think that for the most part, everyone supports the program.
Cavalero: My stepsister sent me one message the other day and said: “My friends just started Precious stones. They want to know if it is your true penis. “And” I’m going to omit that episode when we finally decided to see it. “And I thought:” Ok, great. “But it’s a lot of fun because I get the same in which people are childish or low as,” I grew up in the church and I love that program. “It’s like a secret. And I mean, I told this story before, in New Orleans just after season 1 and there was a cafeteria in this store at this time. [gestures to the neck] All the way down. On the third day, hey the coffee and I thought: “Thank you very much for the character you play. I don’t know if you know how much it affects us.” He was simply wild. I have many great interactions of people like that.
And you have the unique opportunity to interpret a story of Christian love Gay, which is something that not many actors can say they have done. How do you have the leg that brings that to the screen?
Devine: it’s great, I have some people, some young gay, who were like: “Thank you very much. I grew up in the church, this show means a lot.” You know, in the same way that Tony is related to Satanists, I interact with gays.
Cavalero: I mean, for me, it’s just about how to do justice to this story and how history evolved. Number one, we just want to do justice to the script and the characters, and it was only the fact that as a child or organically reached this beautiful love story that this audience was raising. I can’t wait for my moms to see the final, they will scare.
It is a great final. I know the hot thing is to return television programs. Would you ever make a single or a movie? Danny said he would love to make a live show.
Devine: that’s what Danny says. I’m like, “it’s fine man, anything, yes.” I think he simply does not want to write a full movie. I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to do a live show.
Cavalero: You write your bits there, we will put them.
Last question: This program will always have some of the best live shows.
Devine: “Running the house with a pickle in the mouth” is a favorite of fans in my forest neck.
Cavalero: “I committed suicide if you asked me.” Simply summarizes Keefe in every way. And the other is like: “I cut my tongue with a pair of rusty scissors and bury it six feet deep.“
Fair precious stones Season 4 is currently being broadcast on Max. The new episodes transmit on Sundays at 7 PM PT in HBO and MAX.
