After three authorizations for the first time consecutive to the lowest heights, Lake required the three attempts to continue in the competition at 1.97m.
But in a world class line, with the rounds that passed rapidly in the temporal place organized by Wednesday’s field events in downtown Zurich, the British maintained that impulse to fulfill an ambition for life.
After having jumped 1.90m for the first time at the age of 16 in 2013, Lake admitted that he had believed that he would jump two meters every year since then.
Although it has not proven to be so simple, the violation of that border before the World Championship will inspire the belief that a first global podium can achieve in the fourth place in Budapest two years ago.
“The main thing between now and Tokyo is to keep the body healthy and not try to change too much,” Lake said.
“I think I could have jumped 2.02m with my two -meter jump, so I only trust my coach and what we are doing and does the same again, really.”
