Teenager Gout Gout established a new Australian record with the victory in the 200 male meters in its senior international debut at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava.

The Sprinter Powered adapts to Cuban Reynier Mena, based in Portuguese, who had to settle second after winning the last two races of 200m from the Diamond League.
“I feel good. New best national record, new national record in my first European race,” said Gout Gout.
“I don’t feel any pressure. Because as soon as I go on that track, I’m just me alone and what I have to do, my favorite thing, and that is to run.
“I just come out and run and nothing prevents me from doing that.
Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake of Britain finished third with the best 20.60 of the season.
The drop has been compared to the legendary Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, and its 200 meter time in Ostrava was better than the holder of the Jamaica world record, who ended at 20.28 at his first Golden Spike meeting in 2006.
However, the drop does not have a legal time below 20 seconds, which Bolt achieved four months before its 18.93 birthday in Bermuda.
The best GOUT best staff was 20.04, which worked last December to break the Australian record of the Olympic silver medalist Peter Norman.

He has Australian records under 16 in the 100m and 200m, and last year he won the national title of children under 20 years before securing a 200-meter silver medal in the U-20 World Championship in Lima.
After last year’s victory in the 200 MY 400M in the GPS GPS 2024 GPS Championship in his native Queensland, the drop became a professional and signed a sponsorship agreement with Adidas.
