The 800M Olympic champion, Koley Hodgkinson, will not compete on weekends London Diamond League while continuing to return to full aptitude.
Briton, 23, has not yet begun his outdoor season after late in the hamstrings in February and has not run since he won 800 m of gold at the Paris Olympic Games on August 5.
Hodgkinson is back in full training after suffering a lower setback in June, but has made the decision to delay his first game of the season to make sure he is fully ready to compete with London arriving too soon on his return.
Finding the best way for the World Championship in September in Tokyo, Japan, is the priority for the corridor born in Manchester.
After winning money in the world in 2022 and 2023, he will hope to go better this year.
Hodgkinson, who received a MBE in May, won 800 m of Olympic gold in Paris last summer with an impressive 56.72 second race.
It also established a British record or 1: 54.61 at the London Stadium in 2024, but the focus on collecting another global medal means sacrificing the opportunity to compete on the same track this month.
Hodgkinson is another high -profile withdrawal of the London London Diamond League after the Norwegian star Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who had a leg prepared to renew his rivalry with Josh Kerr of Great Britain, but will come out with an injury.
The match in London on July 19 is 11 of 15 in the Diamond League this season.
