Megan Keith set a women’s 10km European record in Castellón, taking a second off the previous record set by fellow Scot Eilish McColgan.
The 23-year-old finished fourth in the Spanish road race in 30 minutes and seven seconds.
McColgan was sixth in 30:35 as the 35-year-old continues her preparation for the London Marathon.
Caroline Gitonga came first in 29:34, ahead of fellow Kenyan Nelvin Jepkemboi, with Ethiopia’s Chaltu Dida third.
McColgan had regained his European 10km record in Valencia in January, seven days after he broke it.
McColgan had held the record for more than three years after setting a time of 30:19 in Manchester in 2022, but Belgian Van Lent reduced it to 30:10 in Nice on January 4.
Keith finished 10th in the 10,000m at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo and was second at December’s European Cross Country Championships in Portugal.
