The Saints suddenly face a possible field Marshal crisis.
Derek Car is dealing with a shoulder injury that puts its availability for the next season at risk, according to the NFL network.
He is weighing the possibility of undergoing surgery, the report added.
It is not clear how or when the injury happened.
Carr, 34, is the third year of the four -year contract and $ 150 million he signed with New Orleans in 2023.
He only played 10 games last year due to wounds and manual injuries, and Spencer Rattler of backup fought powerfully.
The Saints were 0-6 in their six openings, and ended the year with a humble completion of 57 percent, 1,317 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.
New Orleans also fired Chief coach Dennis Allen in the middle of the season.
Carr’s state for the next season was previously uncertain after the Saints hired Kellen Moore as her new chief coach, which caused rumors that she might want to go from the veteran.
But the Saints later restructured Carr’s contract, turning most of his salary into a signature bonus in a movement that effectively locked him for the next season.
He has registered a 14-13 record in two years for the Saints.
In the 10 games he played last year, Carr completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,145 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.
And few veterans options are remitting on the open market with Russell Wilson and Jameis winning with the giants, Joe Flacco going to the Browns and Aaron Rodgers probably went to the Steelers.
The Saints have the number 9 selection in the draft, which means that Shedeur Sanders could be at stake if it is not tasks before them.
Together with Rattler, they still have Jake Haener and Ben Dinucci on the list.
