Heartwood Preserve does not seem like a typical rainwater infrastructure. Instead of a mainly utilitarian design, this project in OMAHA works as public art. Meyer Studio Land Architects created a series or 14 acres sculptoric water retention basins of 500 acres of land that settle in a basin at risk of floods. The public is intended to be enjoyed by the public and even has characteristics that educate climate change. Heartwood Preserve is a winner of the Design Innovation By Design innovation Awards.
