Japanese manufacturer Nissan has approached recent media speculation regarding the possible closure of some production facilities, categorically denying any official basic for such claims.
“As a policy, we do not comment on speculatory reports,” said a spokesman or Nissan Motor India in a statement. “Nissan is still committed to its operations, distributors, partners and clients of India.”
The company emphasized that recent reports that suggest the closure of certain plants are purely speculative and are not based on any official automation manufacturer communication.
Clarifying its current world production plans, Nissan confirmed a previously announced movement to consolidate the manufacture of its Nissan Frontier and Nissan Navara trucks. The production, which was divided into the legs between facilities in Mexico and Argentina, will now centralize in the Civac plant in Morelos, Mexico.
In addition, the spokesman highlighted Nissan’s previous announcement in March, where it was confirmed that Renault Group would acquire the participation of 51 percent of Nissan in Renault Nissan Automotive India Private LTD (RNAIP), thus taking.
“At this time, we will not provide more comments on this matter,” the company added.
