southern charm alum Olivia Flores is sharing a glimpse of what life has been like since calling off her wedding to her fiancé. Alex Williams.
“Well November wasn’t the month I imagined… but it was still special thanks to these beautiful people,” Flowers, 33, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, December 3, along with a series of photos from the past month.
She also listed some “takeaways” from the past 30 days, which included learning that having a “support system is everything” and that “you can pace yourself.”
The nuggets of wisdom also hinted at the current status of their relationship, reading: “You can cancel a wedding without canceling a relationship,” as well as “Returning Registry gifts strengthens character.”
Accompanying the post was a carousel of photos and videos that included Halloween festivities, sumptuous dinners, multiple sunsets, movie nights with their friends, and what was apparently an emotional group hug.
Flowers also included Williams in the carousel. In an instant, he smiled while driving a boat; A second image showed the couple taking an evening walk, with Williams’ hand resting gently on Flowers’ neck.
Fans of the reality star quickly took to the comments section of her post to show their support for the vulnerable post.
“Congratulations on having the courage to live authentically,” one person wrote, while another added, “It’s better to call it off than divorce later, trust me. I wish I had been that brave.” A third said: “You are amazing and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your heart like this.”
Flowers and Williams, 35, announced in October that they were calling off their nuptials after getting engaged a year earlier.
“After much thought and many honest conversations, Olivia and her fiancé Alex made the difficult decision to not move forward with their wedding,” read a statement shared via Cabine Creative and Flowers’ Instagram at the time. “This was not a decision made lightly, but one based on mutual respect and love for one another.”
The statement noted that canceling the wedding was not something that either Flowers or Williams “originally envisioned,” but that the couple was “deeply grateful for the love and support of their friends and family” and planned to “remain committed to each other with a renewed sense of clarity, strength, and appreciation for honoring one’s own heart.”
After meeting at a wedding in October 2023, Flowers revealed that Williams had officially taken a knee.
“‘Engagement photos are cheesy.’ – Me… a week ago,” she captioned a series of Instagram images from the proposal in October 2024. “It was perfection. Thank you all for this unforgettable PROPOSAL… WHAT?! I love you, especially you, Alexander.”
Later she told him Us weekly exclusively that wedding planning was an “overwhelming” process.
“For now we’re just happy about the engagement,” he confessed at the time, adding that the duo had “barely scratched the surface” of what needed to be done.
Before her romance with Kroll, Flowers dated southern charm co-star Austen Kroll. She joined the cast of the Bravo series for season 8 and the couple’s split was the focus of season 9. She did not return for season 10, hinting at the idea that her departure was not entirely her decision, but rather a product of wanting to keep her relationship out of the spotlight.
“I have this new relationship and I’m choosing another path,” she said during a July 2024 episode of the “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay” podcast. “But I got the call from the production company a few weeks before filming. She was just asking me questions like, ‘You don’t seem to be in Charleston much.'”
