Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County is throwing a cool party called “ReThink Fashion Show the Eco Edit” on September 18, 2025, in New Castle. It’s all about mixing sustainability with awesome fashion and bringing the community together.
Guess what? Miss Earth USA 2025, Haley Grace Poe, is hosting! She’s from Pennsylvania and super into protecting the planet and telling great stories, so it’s gonna be a fun night.
This isn’t just your average fashion show. Designer Dell Scott and students from the University of Delaware’s fashion program are turning donated clothes into amazing, new outfits that are both stylish and good for the environment. After the show, you can even buy the clothes! Shopping and sustainability all in one place.
Why It Matters From the Planet to the People
“The Eco Edit represents so many things that Goodwill stands for creativity, opportunity, and sustainability,” says Colleen Morrone, President & CEO of Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County. “This event brings together community talent and innovation to prove that fashion can be beautiful, affordable, and responsible.”
It’s the kind of style that comes with a conscience. By spotlighting reused designs, Goodwill shows how second-hand threads can be glamorous and how every purchase fuels job training, employment programs, and brighter futures for people in their communities.
A Host with Heart and Purpose
Haley Grace Poe brings not just glamour to the stage, but passion and advocacy. A biology graduate soon to begin her master’s in medical science, she founded the Microplastic Awareness Project, working relentlessly to combat plastic pollution. She reflects with grace: “Sustainable fashion isn’t just about clothes it’s about protecting the health of our planet and our communities… every garment can have a second life, just like every person deserves a second chance.”
Beyond Fashion A Movement in MotionThe evening isn’t just about runway looks. There will be a curated shopping experience, an art and fashion showcase, and a chance to explore how artful design and sustainability walk hand in hand. Media are invited to a sneak peek on September 6, and to join the final rehearsal and fittings on the day of the event.
What to Expect:
* Eco-friendly designs: Clothes that share stories about reuse and being responsible.
* Community creativity: Local students and designers get a chance to shine.
* Empowerment: The event helps fund job training and opportunities for people to have another shot.
* Inspiration to act: A cool way to think about our clothes and what kind of impact we have.
Conclusion
The ReThink Fashion Show the Eco Edit is more than just a fashion show. It’s about thinking differently about the future. It encourages us to reflect our style and our responsibility to care for the earth through what we wear. For one night in Delaware, the runway showed us that caring for the planet is always in style.
