A military vehicle of the National Guard crashed into a car in Washington, DC, on Wednesday morning, hurting the driver. The incident occurs after President Trump ordered hundreds of guard troops to the district as part of his safe and safe work group.
The mines resistant ambush protected the all -terrain vehicle (Matv), a military vehicle that weighs up to 16 tons and is destined to resist explosive attacks, collided with a “civil vehicle” just after 6 pm on Wednesday in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill of Washington, DC, according to teacher Sgt. Erich B. Smith of the National Guard Office. The Matv was one of the five DC National Guard vehicles.
“The five vehicles and a Cruise of the DC Metropolitan Police stopped and provided help to the civilian, which was transported through EMS,” Smith said in a statement.
The person was rescued from his vehicle, suffered minor injuries and was tasks for a hospital, according to the DC Fire Department.
A video that circulates on social networks shows a Matv feet away from a SUV in the accident scene: the intersection of 8th Street SE and North Carolina Avenue.
Samuel Pastore, who works as a neighborhood commissioner, lives nearby. He criticized what he called the “militarized” police forces “of large”.
“Our children are returning to school,” said Pastore. “Take these tanks out of our streets!”
The deployment of the National Guard of DC is produced after the Trump statement of an “emergency of the crime” in the capital of the nation. The Tennessee National Guard troops, Virginia Occidental, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana and Ohio have also ordered the district for their respective governors.

Federal authorities have issued 550 trials in Washington since August 7, including 3 known gang members, according to a White House official not authorized to share specific data publicly. They added that some 76 firearms also have the leg.
The Metropolitan Police Department did not publish a report on the accident because there was no criminal offense, according to MPD spokesman Michael Russo.
The mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, was not immediately available to comment on the accident.
