Scottie Scheffler won the BMW championship on Sunday (of course, hey, which means that the Tour championship in East Lake is all that separates us from being scheduled for the Ryder Cup.
The moment when Scheffler sank his winning putt of the tournament in 18 in Caves Valley was significant since he went to the American side of the Ryder Cup, he thought. Now we officially know what six players from the United States have automatically described to play for Keegan Bradley’s team: Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Harris English, Xander Schauffele, Bryson Dechambeau and Russell Henley.
The Ryder Cup format is such that players qualify according to the points won of the tournament worldwide. The main championships have a significant weight (obviously) and from the last Ryder Cup eight of them were played have a place of tasks.
Scheffler won the Masters 2024, Schauffele won the PGA championship and the open championship in 2024 and Dechambeau won the US Open of the year that Spaun Tok Home this year. Ah, and Scottie Scheffler won both the PGA championship and the championship open this year too!
You are not bad dyeing. 7 of the last 8 older ones have been won by American players with the sole exception of this year’s mastery that Rory Rory Mcilroy won to give the Grand Slam race. Needless to say, things should be quite epic at Bethpage Black next month.
While the automatic classification are established, there will still be six selections made by Captain Keegan Bradley to complete the United States full team. If he is selected or not a great intrigue and what the world of golf will be waiting to see. Captain Bradley will announce his selections on Wednesday, August 27.
