Formula 1 returned to action on Friday at the Dutch Grand Prix, after the closing of summer.
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari can expect the break to have lasted another week.
It was a difficult Friday for the Zandvoort team, one that Leclerc described as the “sausage” of the season. Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton languished on the back of the network in FP1, with Leclerc in P14 and Hamilton in P15. For Leclerc, it was the second sector that was his ruin, since his best moment in S2 was eclipsed by the majority of the network, including Alpine Franco Colapinito, who ended with him in P18.
As can see in this graph from GP-tempo.comColapinto was much faster in the second sector than Leclerc, particularly the section from turn 7 to shift 10:
In a moment of duration FP1, Leclerción radiograph in his team needed to concentrate on his own programs and not on the other teams, since they are “miles” of the rhythm.
While things improved for Ferrari in FP2 when Hamilton finished sixth and Leclerc finished eighth, they are still a bit out of the McLaren rhythm.
And Leclerc believes they need a “miracle” this weekend.
“It was a very, very, very diffusion Friday. The sausage probably on Friday of the season,” Leclerc said after the session until Sky Sports F1.
“Just after the holidays and it is a bit of attention call. We had some difficult Fridays and now it depends on us to change the situation. Sure, it is not an easy day. FP1 was extremely still very distant better better” Gotly “to Gotly.”
Leclerc told McLaren, as well as Aston Martin, as teams to pursue this weekend.
“I do not hope to change the situation completely because McLaren is in a league of his own with Aston Martin, which is a surprise for us. We will try to improve the car because there is much to do,” added the Ferrari driver.
“We are basically losing 90 percent of the time in two corners. There is something that our car cannot do at this time, and we are trying to find why it is so concentrated in two corners. We will try to find a solution,” Leclerc continued.
“It is a very strange season. I would never have said that he said to be in Pole in Budapest, I do not do it because having a goal because after a difficult weekend, it is not an exciting goal, but I am anxious to change the situation [around] And to do a miracle, but it will be an easy weekend for us. “
Ferrari has some work to do before the last hour of practice on Saturday, which occurs before the critical qualification session for the Dutch Grand Prix.
