Americans are ready for a vacation, apparently.
AAA said he projects that a record of 45.1 million will travel the duration of the holiday of the Fallen Day this year. “The weekend getaways of the Fallen Day do not have to be extravagant and expensive,” said Stacey Barber, vice president of AAA Travel, in the press release. “While some travelers embark on dream vacations and hundreds of miles fly throughout the country, many families simply pack the car and drive to the beach or make a road trip to visit their friends.”
Most travelers are expected to go by car, with 87% choosing a road trip, according to AAA’s findings. It is likely that this is partly due to gasoline prices, which fell again in March, according to the latest inflation of the Office of Labor Statistics.
