San Diego (AP) – Southern California was shaken Monday morning by a strong earthquake near San Diego.
The earthquake, at 10:08 am, had a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 and was close to Julian’s mountain city, east of San Diego, according to the United States geological service.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s department said he did not receive immediate reports of damages or injuries.
The earthquake balanced lamps and shelves shaken in San Diego and felt as north as Los Angeles.
In the next 10 minutes, eight replicas above 2.5 were recorded.
The earthquake focused about 2½ miles south of Julian, a picturesque city better known for its cakes and bakeries.
Governor Gavin Newsom has been informed about the earthquake, said his office in a statement on social networks. The State is working with local lifeguards to assess any damage.
