A 7 -year -old girl whose body was found in a bathtub in her apartment Van Nuys died of suffocation because her neck was compressed and due to drowning, according to the foreign doctor’s office.
The department identified the victim as Rebecca Castellanos.
His mother, Graciela Xiomara Castellanos, 37, was arrested on Friday, April 11, under suspicion of murder, not long after death, authorities said.
The detectives had not revealed a reason for the murder that occurred in block 6800 of North Sepulveda Boulevard.
A neighbor told Ktla that a man who also lives in the apartment found the girl when she got home and shouted asking for help. A LAPD spokesman did not know his relationship with the suspect or the victim.
The officers get used to the apartment at 5:40 pm and saw the girl who did not respond in the bathtub and arrested the mother without incident.
Until Monday, Graciela Castellanos was stopped at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood instead or bail of $ 2 million. She has no previous criminal convictions in Los Angeles County, in accordance with judicial records.
