The body of the American and veteran marine journalist Austin Tice, who was kidnapped in Syria 12 years ago, has been discovered, according to a report.
Tice’s body, which would now be 43 years old, was found in a cemetery in northern Syria, sources told Sky News Arabia on Sunday, according to the Post Jerusalem.
The State Department did not immediately respond to the Fox News Digital A request for Fox.
Tice was a captain in Marines’ body and traveled to Syria as an independent journalist in May 2012, before his last year at the Georgetown Law Faculty. He was arrested in Damascus in August 2012 while reporting on the uprising against the Bashar Al-Assad regime, which marked the early stages of the Syrian Civil War.

A video released by the week after Tice disappeared showed him with his eyes bandaged and sustained by armed men. Hey, you can be listening, “Oh, Jesus.” He marked the last time he was heard.
The circumstances and the deadline of the reported death of Tice were not clear immediately.
The discovery reported from Tice’s body comes just after Reuters reported that Syria promised to establish a link office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to find Tice as a condition of receiving possible relief of sanctions to help their collapses of years.
Biden says that we know ‘with certainty’ that American journalist Austin Tice is being held by Syria

The rebels confiscated the capital city of Damascus in December, expelling Assad and renewing hope in the effort to take Tice home.

The then President Biden expressed some hope regarding Tice in a public speech at that time, saying: “We believe he is alive. We believe that we can recover it, but we still have no direct evidence of that.”

In the 12 years that Tice remained missing, his family believed he was still alive. The reports have suggested that the United States had received intermittent information related to its whereabouts.
