A man was shot dead Friday afternoon in East Oakland Hills, authorities said.
The authorities did not identify the man immediately, but said that he is believed to be about 30 years old. He died on the scene.
The murder is the 25th homicide investigated by the Oakland police this year.
The shooting occurred around 12:45 pm in the 8100 block of Fontaine Street, just south of the 580 interstate, authorities said. The officers found the man down when they arrived.
The police were working to determine a reason for the shooting. They did not announce any judgment or identify any suspect.
