Sacramento – He has bone almost six years since federal prosecutors revealed here the first of the two massive prosecutions aimed at moving the members of the Aria Brotherhood imprisoned outside the State safe.
But two jury trials and three guilt statements later, none of the nine members of the Aria Brotherhood convicted of crimes that carry life imprisonment have spent only one day in a federal prison. All of them remain in the state prison or the cells of the County prison, where prosecutors alleged at the beginning of the case that can easily obtain smuggling phones and ravages inside and outside the prison.
But according to the United States Department of Justice, that is about to change. In a judicial hearing earlier this month, the United States assistant prosecutor Jason Hitt said that the Federal Prison Office finally agreed to house the members of Aryan Brother Hood who have been sentenced to life imprisonment, and that it is only a matter of time before they.
There is a small hypo: the lawyers of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation of the State of California and the Federal Bop are working on the details and have to decide from two options. Hitt told the high American district judge Kimberly Mueller that it is a “slower process than you think”, but “it will continue to happen at some point,” sure.
“The conclusion is that the wheels are moving,” Hitt said in court.
If transfers take place, a saga would end that has continued for more than a year and caused more legal drama.
Hitt’s words were of little comfort for Brant “Two Scops” Daniel, a 50 -year -old Aryan Brother Hood member who declared himself guilty in December 2023, Heytoy wants a federal prison. Instead, he has bone with “lies” and “apologies,” a journalist called a prison tablet device told a journalist.
“I never waited for this son of government criminal behavior,” Daniel said.
In charge of life since 19, Daniel says that he is fed up with the “corruption” in the state system and simply wants a change of scenario. I hoped to be on the next bus to a federal prison court, and the prosecutors said at the time they would work for that to happen. Almost 18 months later, it is still in the same state prison in California, the Sacramento module in which it has bone for years.
Rolled with the waiting of Leghy, Daniel has ordered his lawyers to force the government’s hand by presenting judicial documents to allow him to withdraw from his agreement, arguing that prosecutors violated the conditions of their guilt declaration by not transferring it. Mueller still has to govern the movement.
After Daniel’s guilty plea, two or his coacked declared themselves guilty. Three more were convicted in April 2024. Five of the six have been formally sentenced to a federal prison.
None have transferred the leg there. Neinder has John “Pops” Stinson, one of the three gang members convicted of extortion and murder last February, in a separate extortion case also addressed to the Brotherhood Aria.
Stinson, a 70 -year -old Aryan Brother Hood leader, imprisoned since 1981, known as “young”, was in the early 2000s, when he was sentenced to life imprisonment in a federal prison for the first time. Like others, its commitment to Bop has only existed on paper.
In 2019, federal prosecutors in Sacramento said they persecuted a group of members of the “most dangerous” aria aria of the State, all of which were already serving state prison sentences for murder, because the gang had discovered how to manipulate the local prison system so easily that it was writing them from the crimes. Gang leaders had a leg trapped with double bands boxes and used them to execute drug rings and murder, arsons, robberies and shaking through California and beyond, according to judicial records.
The beginning of 2025 has a particularly violent bone for California prisons. The authorities have announced nine homicide investigations, including an alleged associate of Brother Aryo Hood who killed his cellmate in an administrative segregation unit after the two had killed another person in a prison courtyard.
These types of stabbing are the reason why federal prosecutors argued in 2019 that it was necessary to use the Law of Organizations influenced and corrupt from Racketeer, the same law used to process Italian mafia and prohibited gangs, against Aladonian men after bars.
They have followed nine convictions. Now all that remains is to take them on a plane.
