When Ingwerson bought the property, he had already been expanded and redesigned from his previous 4,400 square feet by the previous owner Terry Hamilton in 1985.
“It was the only hut in the price range I could pay in the front of the ocean,” Hamilton told Orange County Registry in 1988. “No one really paid him more, caught in the old house and how bad it was.”
The remodeling was inspired by Hamilton’s trip through Europe, studying architecture there.
“I just got on the workers who were restoring Casas Viejas, asking about the participants of the construction that I could bring to my architect and contractor,” he told The Registry.
