Tom Thibodeau has a winning percentage of .579 in 13 seasons as a chief coach. That is tied in 31º, of all time, among all NBA coaches, which dates back to 1946, who has trained in at least 100 games; The tie is with Erik Spoelstra from Miami.
The heat of Spoelstra has gone 83-81 in the last two years. The Knicks of Thibodeau have gone 101-64. And yet, there are moments, listening to the members of the NBA cognenti and their most critical fans, when it can be influenced that it was Spoelstra who whispered Jimmy Naismith’s ear, touched the good height for the 10 fetket.
And in the moments when you could swear that Thibodeau has somehow the Goths absurdly fortunate in 578 of the 998 games he has trained for the Bulls, Timberwolves and Knicks, and Goths exactly what he deserved in the other 420.
(Complete dissemination: I think Spoelstra is also an excellent coach).
