Oregon’s coach delivers a message about the unit after the murder of Charlie Kirk, a Ducks fanatic
The murder of Charlie Kirk hit near the home for Oregon soccer coach Dan Lanning, who recently discovered that Kirk was a fan of Lanning’s own ducks.
Lanning offered his condolences to Kirk’s wife, Erika, and his two children after his 34-14 victory over Northwestern on Saturday
. But in a long response to the current culture of the United States, Lanning implored Americans to look at their own costumes, saying: “People in this world can learn a lot from [it]. “
“You enter that wardrobe, you have boys from different races, boys of different origins, different religions, and you get a team that love each other. Tons of differences. Where are they, Oach and, ultimately, we lose some of that in our country,” said Lanning.
Lanning has seen behind armed violence before, and made his voice heard again on Saturday, condemning the “evil” that led to Kirk’s murder, as well as the deaths of children’s shots.
“I recently discovered that Charlie Kirk was a fan of Oregon, right? I didn’t know. It hurt for his wife, Erika and his children. That kind of evil should never exist in our country, and that is what it is to explain? Sitting my children and explaining what happened, and they are talking about people who speak at school. Lanning said.
“But it is just as sad: every day it seems that we deal with some kind or violence that is happening in our country, whether children in school in Colorado or in children in Minnesota in the churches. I mean, and I think we have lost the you thete lost lost.
Lanning also had a powerful message for those who disagree with him in political and social matters.
“I only know this, I love you. I love you absolutely, right? And life matters. And there is no way that Charlie should experiment, that his family should experience, there is no way that evil should exist in this world.”
Lanning then requested a reform of weapons for “sick people” and more protection for children in schools.
“And we have to continue identifying it and point it out and make sure it is absolutely evil. There is no reason in the world so that our children, we must worry about sending our children to school. It is our duty.
“Common sense says:” Oh, it’s mental health, right? “Common sense says:” Oh, they are weapons. “Do you know what? It should be really difficult for a sick person to have a gun.”
