An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred to three miles south of Julian at 10:08 am on Monday, causing tremors that felt so far away the Landhwest as Oxnard and so far to the Landheast as Palm Springs, according to the United States geological service.
The strongest tremor was reported in a Ranch Ranch Arund state park in Julian, Ramona and Cuyamaca, the USGS said.
The tremor began 8.3 miles deep, immediately south of the Elsinore fault zone, one of the most busy seismic areas of California, according to the USGS. The earthquake is likely to be followed by many smaller replicas. Elsinore’s failure is capable of producing earthquakes in the magnitude range 6.5 to 7.5.
The tremor threw several articles in the vintage market of Barn in Santa Ysabel. The owner Brandi Smothers was in the kitchen in his house nearby when his old ceramics “flew from the shelves.”
He was also surprised in a letter panic when the alarm of the earthquake on the phone began to sound in the Bluetooth in his ear. The sisters went to her and found old ancient mirrors “outside the shelves and broken.”
The second story was a bit harder. “Anything that can fall is on the ground.” Even so, she said: “I am thinking that we had probably escaped well.”
The San Diego Fine Arts Museum in Balboa Park closed so that it could control damage and safety. Since it has been injected. The earthquake also produced tremors that was strong enough to be not noticed on the 14th floor of the Federal Court in San Diego.
This is a last minute news and will be updated.
