An passerby found a discarded human fetus on a Brooklyn street in a disturbing discovery on Thursday, police and sources said.

A 48 -year -old woman walked through Union Street, near Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights, around 5:30 pm, when she saw the remains on the ground and called 911, authorities and sources said.

The fetus was declared deceased in the scene by EMS workers, who said he seemed to have a leg of about 4 months, police said.

The genre was not known immediately.

The circumstances around the disturbing discovery were also unknown, and how the fetus ended in the street.

The Office of the City of the Official Forensic Doctor will determine the cause of death.
