Prince Andrew has suffered a new blow since York residents in England have asked to be stripped of his title of Duke of York.
The 65 -year -old Royal dishonor, received the Honorary Royal Title in 1986 as a gift from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, before her wedding with Sarah Ferguson.
Andrew became the eighth real to celebrate the prestigious title, which was created in 1385 and typically reserved for the second children of the British monarchs.
But the series of controversions of the scandalous prince, including his close association with the pedophile and financial sentenced Jeffrey Epstein and his demand for sexual abuse presented by the real status of Virginia Giuffre-Had thrust in the center of attention.
As a result, the late queen stripped her son of her military titles and real sponsorships, as well as her HRH title. He was also forced to give up his role of royalty that works.
Now, more than 70% of York residents believe that Andrew should be stripped of his title of Duke of York, according to a GB news investigation.
The data, which were collected from people in the streets of York, also revealed that only 8% of adults believed that Andrew should the real historical title, while the other 21% said they had no opinion.
Even so, Buckingham Palace had previously confirmed that they are not plans to strip Andrew or his title of Duke of York.
“We should go to celebrate it in York in any way,” a resident told The Outlet.
Another said: “His reputation pollutes the city, of course,” while a third added: “I think it is an absolute misfortune. It contaminates the royal family.”
Since then, politicians have intervened on the subject, with a parliamentary of the Labor Party, he has the exit that the prince does not deserve the title.
“I think Duke’s elimination would be an appropriate step,” said Rachael Maskell, deputy of Central York, to GB News.
“York is an international city with strong ethical values and, therefore, the continuity of this title causes a reputation contempt for the values of our city, so its association must be discounted.”
“Having examined this matter, this would require a change in the law. As we saw, the late queen had no powers to eliminate the title, when she eliminated the other titles and appointments she had,” Maskell added.
In other places, Luke Charters, Labor Deputy for York Outer, told the exit that residents should take into account the matter.
“It is a matter of the royal family that Prince Whiteher Andrew should give up the title,” he said. “I hope the royal family considers the feelings of York’s residents on this issue.”
Shortly after being stripped of his HRH titles and military honors in January 2022, Andrew Honor’s freedom of the city of York was also tasks of distance after a historical vote of the councilors.
And in February, a secondary school that bears his name has announced that he will change his name to distance himself from Duke dishonored controversies.
The Prince Andrew School, the only secondary school located in St Helena, a British territory abroad in the South Atlantic Ocean, said it is anxious to be free of the “controversial ties” of Andrew.
